Destilería Andina

Destilería Andina was founded in 2015 by Joaquín Randall, Ishmael Randall and Haresh Bhojwani to develop artisanally-distilled spirits that reflect Andean tradition and flavors. The idea was inspired by Joaquín and Ishmael’s mother, Wendy Weeks, to begin distilling her own compuestos in the early 1980s out of her home and hotel Albergue Ollantaytambo.

Today, the distillery continues to operate out of the same property, now El Albergue Ollantaytambo, where it produces Caña Alta Joven, a cañazo (sugar cane liquor) that has been home-brewed by Andean families for centuries, and Matacuy, a botanical digestif traditionally consumed after a meal of cuy (guinea pig, an Andean delicacy).
