The full cost of the Tintes y Textiles retreat is $1,980 USD if you share a room with another participant, or $2,670 USD if you’d prefer your own room. That cost includes…
Transportation from the moment you land in Cusco to the moment you depart. We work with local, experienced drivers who know the best roads and routes to take. We carefully vet all of our drivers and transportation services to ensure the highest safety standards.
Accommodations at independent, design-minded boutique hotels in the Sacred Valley. We choose our hotel and accommodations partners with our workshop in mind; all accommodations are beautifully designed and locally owned. We offer single- and double-occupancy options in all accommodations.
Food, featuring locally-sourced ingredients and Peruvian flavors. Peru is world-famous for its food, and the Sacred Valley is a fertile land filled with organic produce and delicious flavors. We’re very conscious of food safety and only eat in safe, health-conscious restaurants. Some meals will be eaten with our partners in their communities, cooked with produce from the artisans’ farms using traditional cooking methods. Most meals will be eaten as a group, with plenty of options to try.
Workshops with our artisan partners, including all raw materials, activities, explanations, and experiences.
Additional activities. We love the Sacred Valley, Cusco’s backyard, and can’t wait to take you on some special activities that we have planned for the group including hikes, picnics, and visits to some local sites. All entrance fees are included.
Guides & Translators to give support and explanations along the way. Most of our artisan partners do not speak English, and some only speak their Indigenous language, Quechua. We work with local trilingual guides to make sure that everyone can understand one another and share the experience. In addition, you’ll be accompanied by Aula founders Steph and Sonya, who will be available all day to give context, address issues, and share the experience with the group.
Welcome bags, a little gift from us to you with some of our favorite local products.
Water bottles and refills. We provide a reusable (adorable!) water bottle to each of our guests and will bring purified water to refill along the way. Water in Peru is not safe to drink, but we’ll make sure you’re well-hydrated for the entire journey.
Oxygen tanks in case of altitude sickness. The Sacred Valley is lower in elevation than Cusco city, but we’ll always travel with oxygen - just in case. First Aid Kit, Aula will bring a basic First Aid Kit on all our itineraries and workshops but we also advise that our guests bring all of their personal medications.
-
Airfare or other transportation costs from your home country to Cusco. Please let us know if you have any questions about the best way to get to Cusco, and we will be happy to give some advice.
Travel insurance: Aula requires that all guests buy personal travel insurance to cover their time with us. We suggest Allianz as a reliable travel insurance company.
Personal expenses, including shopping or personal purchases.
Alcoholic beverages, unless specifically stated. However, all other beverages will be included.

Aula will pick you up at Cusco’s Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport. We ask that you plan to arrive prior to 3pm on the first day of the itinerary so that we can make sure you have time to settle into the hotel before our briefing and first group dinner.
At the end of the workshop, we will drop you off at the airport. If you would prefer pickup or drop-off to another location, please let us know so that we can make other transportation arrangements (additional fee may apply).

Passports must be valid and should not expire within 6 months of your travel date. Please double check the expiration date of your passport to ensure its validity.
Visas are not required for citizens of the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia or New Zealand who are visiting Peru for tourism purposes. If you are traveling under a passport from another country, please consult the visa requirements for that country.
IGV: Guests who are not nationals, citizens or residents of Peru and have been in the country for fewer than 60 days from their last entry date are exempt from the 18% IGV tax on accommodations in Peru. If you are a Peruvian national, citizen or resident, please contact us for alternate pricing.
Altitude: The Cusco area is located in the middle of the Andes mountain range. We will be spending most of our time in the Sacred Valley at altitudes around 9,200 feet (2800 meters) and in the weaving community of Patacancha, at approximately 13,100 feet (4000 meters). Please let us know if you have had negative experiences at altitude in the past, and consult your doctor regarding preventative measures you can take to avoid altitude sickness.
Vaccinations: The CDC and WHO suggest routine vaccinations for all visitors to Peru, as well as Typhoid, Hepatitis A, and Hepatitis B. Please consult a doctor regarding any other vaccinations you may require for traveling to Peru. We will not be spending any time in rainforest or jungle climates during this itinerary.
COVID-19: We have implemented protocols to keep our guests, partners and staff safe and healthy during this pandemic. Please review our COVID-19 protocols on our FAQ page.
